Make sure at least you can boot from USB drive.ĥ. For me it wouldn't seem to work when booting after messing around in BIOS, I had to hit F9 or F10 to enter boot menu after Acer logo and from there select Boot圆4.bin I believe.Ĥ. Dont' forget your BIOS password.best to disable it after successful installation.ģ. Add BIOS password, in order to add trusted boot source (boot圆4.bin).I think this is only for UEFI mode. Because I have 4 of these devices, I was desperate to get it to work.ġ. I'm just recalling for you the random steps I tried, LOL. I messed around with it so much, I'm not even certain what worked or didn't work. I do think the boot圆4.bin file has to be added as a trusted boot source for UEFI mode, and a bios password had to be set to add the trusted boot source.if I remember what I did correctly.

I don't recall having a problem with MBR or GPT partitions for this device (i have 4 of these cloudbook 14). Hopefully somebody else can chime in and give you better help. I never had to mess with the noapic thing, but I remember reading about it. You also might need to add Boot圆4.bin (or something like that) as an approved boot sequence.ĭrove me nuts! It's worth it though.CloudReady runs so much better on this device than Windows 10. I remember it wouldn't boot into CloudReady from the BIOS, I had to go to the Boot Menu for some reason. It will work with Advanced mode as well, but not as great as in Basic Mode.Īfter you install it, I believe you have to hit F9 or F10 at Acer logo screen to go to Boot Menu, and select the USB stick from there. It's been a while since I did this so I don't remember the exact steps, but it was a pain in the you know what.ĪLSO, you probably will need to put the trackpad into Basic Mode instead of Advanced in order to get it to work better. Switch back and forth from Legacy to UEFI and see which works, make sure USB stick is listed first in boot sequence. If you can't, then you have to mess around with your BIOS settings. Before, it would install and then stop like half way.įirst, make sure you can boot from the USB stick itself as a test, instead of installing. I upgraded to the latest version of CloudReady (which was 68 at the time), and it suddenly started working.
